Hey everybody,
I’m Alysia, writing from the Juror Selection Room. I’m in the Bridgetown Comedy Festival this year in April. I’m stoked to see all the Portland people again!
Here’s more about it from the producer:
Big news! We’ve just posted the Bridgetown lineup on http://www.bridgetowncomed….yfestival.com/, and discounted festival passes are available for the next two weeks at https://www.brownpapertick….ets.com/event/58458.

Over 120 acts are scheduled to perform at the 2009 festival, taking place April 23rd-26th, including standouts such as Janeane Garofalo, Brendon Small, David Koechner, Maria Bamford, Neil Flynn, Jon Glaser, Todd Glass, Hannibal Buress, Pete Holmes, Dave Hill, Leo Allen, Brody Stevens, Tig Notaro, Chris Hardwick, Andy Blitz, Natasha Leggero, and Hari Kondabolu, to name just a few, whose resumes include shows like The Office, Saturday Night Live, Scrubs, Metalocalypse, Reno 911!, The Sarah Silverman Program, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show, The Larry Sanders Show, The Ben Stiller Show, Human Giant, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Comic Standing, Politically Incorrect, Mr. Show and Comedy Central Presents, and hit comedy films such as Wet Hot American Summer and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

This year’s lineup includes an historic cast reunion of the hit animated comedy Home Movies in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the program’s debut, featuring creators Brendon Small and Loren Bouchard, along with comedians and fellow cast members including Jon Benjamin and Ron Lynch. In 2009, Bridgetown is also pleased to announce the addition of Beer Shark Mice, one of the best long-form improve groups in the country, featuring David Koechner of Anchorman and Saturday Night Live and Neil Flynn, best known as the hilarious janitor from Scrubs. Late-night sketch and variety shows including The Tomorrow Show, featuring Brendon Small and Ron Lynch, and The Midnight Show, featuring James Adomian and Michael Busch are new additions to Bridgetown in 2009 that are not to be missed.

In addition to the well-known national acts participating in the festival, Bridgetown features groups who have built enormous fan bases from the ground up, such as Portland favorite The Famous Mysterious Actor Show and Seattle’s much-lauded People’s Republic of Komedy. This year’s festival also features award-winning hit podcasts such as The Sound of Young America, Comedy and Everything Else and Guys With Feelings. All of these will be performing live tapings of their programs at the festival, which will include a wide range of guests from music and the arts, as well as appearances by some of the funniest comics in the festival.

The discounted $40 festival passes now on sale get you into all shows, all four days (and the limited-edition $100 Golden Ticket passes get you front-of-the-line privileges, entrance to the pre-festival shindig where you can hobnob with your favorite comics, and a complimentary Bridgetown t-shirt and poster!).

Get your tickets now, and we’ll see you in April!
